What do I need?
These are the things you’ll need to make your own deodorant:
- coconut oil
- baking soda
- essential oil (I usually take mint, but it’s up to personal preferences)
And yep, that’s it, nothing more. Just three ingredients and off you go.
How does it work?
For three table spoons of coconut oil I usually use half a table spoon of baking soda and only one small drop of essential mint oil
Where do I put it?
I usually put it into a glass jar to keep it at home, and if I make one I can take to the gym or put into my handbag, I use a plastic jar that I kept from when I was trying to use up all I had and reuse as much as I could. The plastic jar is definitely lighter and, knowing I didn’t buy it new, but kept it from when I was making small changes to my every day life habits, I am totally fine with using plastic for when I am out on the road.
Is it as good as the ones I buy in the store?
I’d say it is even better, unless you are buying it in a package free shop, then there is a high chance you are getting something as natural and kind as the one you are making from scratch. For me, the homemade deodorant containing only three ingredients has magically done its job way better than other products that are filled with a long list of things I don’t even know hot to pronounce. So I’d say it’s definitely worth giving it a try!
